Folks;
I have setup several (> 30) Sarge boxes to NFS mount with our Solaris shared
disc space.
I just did modifid or created as needed the very same files on an ETCH box.
When I go to mount the dir it fails time after time with ...
mount: bingnfs1:/u0/users failed, reason given by server: Permi

For what it's worth...
I find usb hotplug impossible to do wiht the 2.4.x kernel,
and it happens automagically with the 2.6.x kernel.
IF there is nothing stopping you from using a 2.6.x kernel
just apt-get install <2.6 kernel you need>
and there you have it. GRUB will show both kernels at boot tim
How do I get cups to monitor on port 721?
I am trying to get a remote connection from IBM/VM that says it needs port 721
to print to connect to my Debian Linu$
I have added the following lines (in various combinations) to my
/etc/cupts/cups.conf file.
#Listen 128.226.30.57:721
#Listen 127.0.0.

I have used http://www.steves-digicams.com/ for two dig-cam buys and have
recommented it to others many times. IM

That would really depend on the size and the feel.
There is aa point of diminishing returns for both.
And don't forget smell. Perhaps more important than size or
feel.
Colour can also be a consideration.
I propose a debian-fruitselection list-serve.

I just set up a Power Edge 1850 and set up the RAID at boot time at the CMOS
level.
The Net installer of Sarge seemed to have Megatraid and might be your best bet.

I have put 2.6 on a DEll 4000 including sound.
I don't have the directions or laptop any more. If I recall I got
the sound working with ALSA and changing permissions on sound objects in /dev.

You might need to change ALL the audio group files in /dev to 777 to get it to
work outside of root.
I just had to do that on a thinkpad A30 to get sound to work for users (and
installed the
correct drivers).

That statement might be a bit bold, but only a bit. We are examinging it to
upgrade from Solaris 9.
It has some new and advanced features that 'I' feel does make it a new flavor
of UNIX.The zone feature, the way it allows PRIV's for users and groups, better
security methods, the way it watches,
Andy;
I have put SARGE (network install) on several different Thinkpads, but never a
50.
I would first do a Sarge netstall and then try the testing/unstable.
Get the disk partitioned and some sanity checks done.

Did you uninstall iGNOME or PYTHON, that will pull all/some of KDE with it.
Do you still have menus in GNOME? KDE uses some of the GNOME menu system.
