Hi,
since a few days (weeks?) I notice a message saying "(pam_securetty)
access denied: tty ':0' is not secure" in my auth.log when I log in
via kdm or do an su in a konsole. The login and the su do work,
though.
I don't see any such message when I log in or su in a normal console.
Any ideas on

php4-cgi is probably the package to go for, it contains /usr/bin/php4.

Hi,
I'm having a major problem with the version of logcheck currently in

Hi,
after doing an update on my woody system today, X wouldn't start
anymore, complaining about the fixed font missing. A forced
reinstall of xfonts-base solved the problem.
Is anyone aware of a packet that messes with fonts? My first guess was

I've used the same for a while, but that sometimes resulted in strange

I frequently experienced the same problem with fetchmail-ssl as can be
currently found in woody and fetchmail-ssl 5.9.3-1 fresh from unstable

Sounds like a possbile memory problem, run "memtest all" as root to
find out.

Well, here are the charset-related entries from my .muttrc (1.3.20i):

Rather one in dpkg, but as far as I can see, that has been reported
Hi,
could anyone enlighten me about the current status of mysql-client and
mysql-server in woody (both 3.23.36-2)? When I apt-got them, I got
them from main, the license is the GPL and it's even listed as a GNU
package on gnu.org but vrms claims both were non-free?

Hi,
I just got both a Matrox G450 and Xfree 4.1.0 (from sid). Keep the
flamethrowers down: DRI worked within minutes ;-)
My problem is however that apparently whenever I boot into one of the
higher resolution VGA-console modes (using vesafb), I cannot switch
back from X to the console.

I don't know about sid, but it used to run nicely on potato and runs
well on woody, too. Installation was also absolutely painless using
"alien".

Kernel Versions: 2.4.2 & 2.4.4
pdq: 2.2.1-4

I frequently (sometimes it seems to work, usually it doesn't) encounter
the following problem when trying to print with pdq running on a 2.4.4
system:
When I tell pdq to print a given (Postscript) document, it tells me that
it doesn't know how
Setup:
Woody with:
Kernel 2.4.2
XFree 4.0.2-13
kde 2.1.1
xawtv 3.06-3
zapping 0.5.92-2
nVidia TNT2 Graphics Card, X using
the XFree nv driver
Hauppauge WinTV card
Problem: irregularly X freezes when I have a TV
window open using either xawtv (freezes are rare)
or zapping (freezes are frequent).

I noticed the following phenomenon when using the KDE2 binaries on
a otherwise usual potato systen and GDM:
When I log in the first time after booting up, KDE (?) seems to open
port 1024. If I close the session and log in again, the port is closed.
