OK, sorry, for being OT.
OK, it was'nt clear that I studied the ps manpage before asking.
Even when it's not usual, I do so in most of the cases, before I'd ask.
I read this list for around two years now, asking and helping people.
Came here because somewhere I read 'debian-user is sooo friendly

Hi all,
Has anyone managed to install the Management software
agents from HP (Compaq) on a Proliant machine? Of course
I mean on Debian.
There are just .rpm's to download, with some really
ugly hack they work so half-half, but that's all...
Any experience?

Hi,
I'd like to build up a webportal, with the following
conditions:
- forum/newsgroup with two-way mailgateway
- searchable archivum
- userauth from AD
(I believe I'll need some DB behind it)
ofcourse auf debian/linux.
Being opensource or free is no disadvantage :)
has anyone ever done so

hi,
from a shellscript I generate and send mails, which will be read with
m$ outlook, among others.
if the filenames of the attachments contain special characters (ßöüä, for example),
then outlook shows them as
ATT1240737.ATT
ATT1240742.ATT
ATT1242289.ATT
ATT1220670.ATT
the way of the mail is:

Hi all,
I installed the rsh-server that I would be able to install a software
over rsh. (a backup client, but that's all the same now)
it can execute commands over rsh, (mkdir for example) but the software
installation does not work, errormessage:

I'd like to install woody on a machine woth a Compaq Smart Arry 5312
storage controller, but booting with kernel bf24 doesnt recognise the
controller.
I gave a try with redhat advanced server, and that saw it right.
That depressed me quite much:
with debian's bf24: a part of dmesg:
Compaq CISS
ral setup section:
<*> Advanced Power Management BIOS support
[*] Use real mode APM BIOS call to power off
should be enough.
and dont forget the
append="apm=power-off"
from /etc/lilo.conf
hope that helps

I wonder how we would have found it out if there wasn't a second system?!

Once again, thank you.
