I've got a minor problem since upgrading to Potato that I've
been banging my head against the wall trying to fix to no avail.
Hopefully someone here can help (they usually can!).
Ever since the upgrade, I've been getting an error telling me there
are differences between the boot sector & the back
My apologies if this is an rtfm situation, but I haven't been able to
find the answer in my all-too-brief search.
Do I need to download the kernel-headers package to compile a
new version of the kernel? What the heck is that for, anyway?

Hello, the list! I just upgraded from slink up to potato and am now
getting a nice error on bootup that's slowing things down a big. I
can't seem to find the error in my logs anywhere, but it says something
about my boot sector not matching what's saved, gives a bunch of sector
numbers, then says
Just as a follow-up, I wanted to let all you kind people know that I got my
wheel
mouse working! How did I do this? I upgraded my xserver! DOH!

Thanks once again for the suggestions. Unfortunately, this rotten mouse
still ain't working...or at least the wheel (nicknamed "the scourge of
mankind" by myself) isn't. I tried adding the Xterm settings from the
aforementioned mouse wheel webpage to .Xresources...didn't work. Also
tried it in Mo
First off, thanks to both of you for replying...and making me feel
dumb. Even after reading all the documentation and all the config files
and SEEING that the mouse wheel was represented as buttons 4 & 5, I
never thought about changing the number of buttons in XF86Config to 5.
Duh.

Yep, another cheesebag who can't get his stupid M$ Wheel Mouse to work
with Debian. I'm stumped...after consulting all the messages and info
about getting it to work, it just refuses to. Maybe after the breakup
it will? Sarcasm...
Anyway, I've got a basic M$ Wheel Mouse(tm) connected to my PS/2
