Hi!
I did not select any package using dselect. But if I
select 'install' without select any package, there are
still many packages requested to be installed. Why?
Is it because I am using 'stable' release with some
'testing' packages?
Best regards,

Hi,
I have modified /etc/X11/default-display-manager to
contain /usr/X11R6/bin/xdm
I have use rcconf to modify /etc/rc?.d
I have run dpkg --purge gdm
I have run dpkg-reconfigure -plow xdm
But startup shows xdm is not the default manager.
Any idea?
--- Hugh Saunders <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote
Yes, it is located in /usr/X11R6/bin/xdm. Because
there is a shortcut in /usr/bin/X11, it is the same as
in /usr/X11R6/bin.

Hi,
I have run: dpkg --purge gdm, dpkg-reconfigure -plow
xdm
I have modified /etc/X11/default-display-manager, it
shows:
/usr/X11R6/bin/xdm
After I reboot, it still shows that xdm is not the
default display manager.

Terence

Hi!
How do I set xdm as default? I have tried:
rcconf and select xdm and
/etc/init.d/xdm start
but message shows:
Not starting X display manager (xdm); it is not the
default display manager.
I have viewed /etc/X11/default-display-manager

Hi!
I still cannot delete mails under Mutt. The output of ls -ld 'which mutt'
'which mutt-dotlock' is:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 484796 Jan 2 07:18 /usr/bin/mutt
-rwxr-sr-x 1 root mail 7152Jan 2 07:18 /usr/bin/mutt_dotlock
The output of mutt -v is attached.
I have found the muttrc file at /etc/Muttrc. I have read the file and cannot
find any read-only keyword. Why I cannot use Mutt to delete mails in
/var/spool/mail/ngterry? And the mails are always marked "New".
Sincerely,
Terence Ng

I have tried "locate muttrc" or "locate .muttrc", I do not have both files in
my folder or under root. The mails I read are always marked NEW, and I cannot
delete the mails. What can I do next?

I have just set up my MTA. After I read an email, I would like to delete it.
After I type in 'd' or '^d', a message shows 'Mailbox is read only'. Why? Is
it because I capture the mail directly from /var/spool/mail/ngterry? Did I
