I had the same problem and didnt find how to fix it, so i decided to update to BASE :

its build on ACID, works fine, you can keep your mysql database, just have to
config a file and its ok.

I an update/upgrade this morning and after updating acidlab several
functions are not working.
Example - select check boxes not working
Home page -> Most frequent 5 Alerts -> select any box to left of
"Signature" column. Results in error: "No alerts were selected or the
DELETE was not success

The latest Squid for woody has it crashing regularly (signal 6, no other
educational bits). I see a few people having the same problem in
linux.debian.security. Clearing the cache and rebuilding (-z) doesn't
fix it.

keep themselves up to date using cron-apt (I actually have it apply the
updates). I've only been a Debian user for a little over a year but have
been very impressed with the stability of the system and how well the
updates
