I noticed the same thing, then I apt-cache searched; There's "unrar" and
"unrar-nonfree". Unrar-nonfree seems to work better, I had an archive
that didn't work with the free one and did with nonfree.

Well! With a little poking around and Kevin Mark's
advice, I added both the iRiver and the second
unrecognized HD to fstab, and got them both working!
Very excited about all that.
2 bonus problems, check.
