Did you logout/login again after you added yourself to the audio group?
You're shell (or xdm or whatever you loin with) won't pick up the new
groups until you login again.

The OPL3/SAx chip is some kind of all-in-one chip. Just compile MSS/WSS
support into the kernel and it should work. (i.e. for wave audio)

X11amp is kinda slow, and mpg123 is fast. Use the -s switch of mpg123 to
output the audio to the standard output (works with my mpg123 0.59o),
and then redirect it to a .raw file. You can then use sox to convert the
.raw file to a .wav file.

e your rescue disk wasn't written correctly. Try downloading
and rawriting it again. It could also mean you've not enough memory or you
have a virus. What kind of computer is it?

Just booted from CD and all went quite easy. If your system didn't support
IDE/ATAPI-CDROM boot, you only need the first (rescue) floppy, the drivers
disk is on the CD.
Someone told me there are far more rpm-packages available, and other
distributions also use
