Hi,
I have been fighting an issue with a T480 touchpad. I am experiencing the
following problems.
- If a recover from a sleep/Hibernate - the left click stops working on the
touchpad. I can plug in a USB mouse but I have the same symptoms.
- I can use "sudo modprobe -r psmouse && sudo modprobe ps
It looks like a dvd reader package. It looks rather harmless. You could try
installing it again and see if it does install properly.

I'm not sure if it's the exact same case but I had the same issue with a
more recent motherboard. Debian failed to detect the network card with the
E1000 drivers.
I tried an iso with the non free repo without success.
A base Ubuntu iso install was able to detect and configure the network
driver.
How did you create the installation media? Did you try changing your DNS
servers?
I've deployed a few Debian Net-Install over the past few days without
any issues.
