Subject: kernel compile error
Hey all
I'm just trying to install 2.6.9 and am getting this error, i have no
idea why
dolphy:/usr/src/linux# make bzImage
/b
which looks like this
#define UTS_RELEASE "2.6.0-test7"
#define LINUX_VERSION_CODE 132608
#define KERNEL_VERSION(a,b,c) (((a) << 16) + ((b) << 8) + (c))
I'm not sure why it says 2.6.0-test7, but for the rest i don't see
anything wrong with this.
anybody ahve an idea?
must be the multi-volume problem, thanks!

I figured the problem out. I had bashrc execute 'date', whenever i
opened a new shell, somehow scp woud read the bashrc, execute date and
quite. not sure why it didn't copy.

Yes, there is enough space, all the other users i talk to have no
problem scp'ing. I even rm -r'ed my .ssh dir. but nothing change.
What's the story about not making anything called test?

a window manager? if you are, it sounds like
you don't have any window managers installed, so hit Ctrl+Alt+F1
log in there, and run a apt-get install gnome or apt-get install kde,
then try it again

Maybe the output of "cat /proc/cpuinfo" and "dmesg" would help. I don't
think kernel options would make a huge difference, but you never know,
so we might as well have a look at .config.

Ok, so i'm not sure what to do, it gave the same error when i was
installing the modules during set-up..(i'm trying Sid on a second box)
and w/out a network card i'm kinda limited to what to do)
So i might have to recompile the kernel w/ tulip support, but the
tulip.o file is in the /lib/modules
Hey guys,
i'm trying to install a tulip network card, and whenever i run
modprobe tulip
i get this error message:
