Hi,
Yesterday we dist-upgraded several Debian stable machines that were
missing several security updates. The updates included perl and mysql.
Approximately 3.5 hours later some perl scripts began malfunctioning,
problems with sql quote escaping. I have little other information.
Current fingers
otherwise fine for months.
I wonder what may cause the kernel to switch to level 6 without user
intervention?
Which bugs? Which filesystem do you use?
ext2 across the board. Not referring to any specific bugs, but hey the
kernel isn't perfect.

memory errors, then a switch to runlevel 6.
Kernel may have bugs, but its been running otherwise fine for months. I
wonder what may cause the kernel to switch to level 6 without user
intervention?
Thanks

x27;ve tried two different caddies
(both chassis and holder) so it doesn't look like a connection problem unless
they both suffer, the drives were both fine outside of the caddies, and I've
double checked the IDE cable is firmed in both connectors.
What should I do to diagnose this fault
this problem? I've had it for a while in sid.
Thanks,

Any ideas where I can remove this entry? I have a pretty standard setup,
very little non-debian software components installed. It's driving me
mad :(

Over to you guys - help!
Many thanks,

e which may seem a little old
and unconventional (installing a base system then configuring your main
apps from there), then you'll have no problems.
