My problem has been solved. Turns out
my mouse wasn't working becuase I was
trying to connect a serial mouse
to a PS/2 port (using an adaptor).
But once I tried connecting a real
PS/2 mouse, it worked.
As for interrupt 12, turns out that
my BIOS was in Auto mode for PS/2
auxillary device support,
I'm trying to play an MPEG file using xine (latest from unstable).
However I cannot run xine without the -s option (that means: use
a shared memory segment instead of the Xv extention for output).
As a result I can't run it full screen.
The output of xvinfo is:

Hi, I'm running unstable with a custom built linux-2.4.0. I'm trying
to setup a firewall rule with iptables the following way:
iptables -A INPUT -i ppp0 -p tcp --dport 5865 -j REJECT
The error message I get is:
ipchains: Protocol not available
If I chage REJECT to DROP everything works perfectly
I'm planning to install Debian on a computer and since potato is frozen I
thought I'd just install the frozen dist right away and just update it until
the release. But I was wondering about the boot disks in frozen. I've heard a
lot of talk about them being broken. Are they now? and would I be
