Kernel 2.6.27 in Debian?

2008-12-07 Thread Simon Guest
Hi all, I really expected 2.6.27 to be in Sid by now, but it's not, and I can't find any mention of it anywhere, on the mailing lists or elsewhere. Does anyone know when this is likely to happen? Is something holding it up? From kernel.org: The latest stable version of the Linux kernel is: 2.6.

How does aptitude record automatically installed packages?

2004-02-18 Thread Simon Guest
A great feature of aptitude is that it tracks automatically installed packages, removing these when no package I have explicitly installed depends on them. But where does it record this info? I want to be able to see what I have explicitly installed ('manually installed') on my system, since this

nvidia-glx graphics very slow

2004-01-14 Thread Guest, Simon
I'm trying to use the Debian packaged nvidia driver on a TNT2 Model 64 card. Alas, glxgears (and all the other GL applications) run very slowly. Testing the frame rate with glxgears shows this: $ glxgears 196 frames in 5.0 seconds = 39.200 FPS 3 frames in 5.0 seconds = 0.600 FPS 4 frames in 6.0

two sshd daemons and pids

2003-06-20 Thread CAMTP guest
I'm trying to setup a second sshd daemon (with different configuration and port listening), but have a problem with the PID file. Apparently the start-stop-daemon ignores the --pidfile $PID directive. When I start the second sshd daemon (the /etc/init.d script attached), the original /var/run/sshd.
