How do I fix this?
What surprises me is that I am able to mount all the partitions
on /dev/hdc and access all the files there.

since this is my first time compiling
the kernel this isn't strange that I
don't have "as86" right? This is normal
that I have to go out and find this via
google.com?

I'm running Debian potato, so I have the pre version 4 of XFree.
It used to run like a champ. After installing a few more packages
and doing an update here or there, it appears I have a memory
leak.
I barely have anything running compared to when it ran like
a champ and now I'm always on the bord
boy I can't believe this.
My system totally froze up, apparently to
memory exhaustion? Can this be?

gkrellm, the system monitor, was froze too,
but the display showed the swap file was

this happened to me in FreeBSD 3.1 a few years ago.
All color photos I viewed in netscape came out
colorized. I put up with it for a long time, then
wiped the disk and installed Linux.

I just installed Debian Linux via storm

right before leaving for work.
This past weekend I spent umpteen hours
sussing Linux out. I kept thinking I
would have to go back to windoze as there
would be something it could do that Linux
couldn't. So far as my n

I'm running potato, via storm installation.
Netscape crashed and took with it my network
connection. I couldn't ping any remote host.
I did a `ps' and removed a lurking netscape process
but still I couldn't get any kind of network connection.
I hated like hell to reboot, because I want to be

This is just an initial impression, I know it will
go away as I use it more.

I used Adaptec's Easy CD creator on win98
to burn my stormix disk. You want the copy
disk image option and you have to specify
ISO.

burning a CD, a bunch of steps plus 2x650 Mbs of disk required.
stormix is cool, but it bothers me that it is a commercial
package, and the reason I went for Debian is because its
totally non-commercial.

install, and off and running.
So now I see no really good reason to leave FreeBSD for
Linux. Am I missing something, besides the license issue?
