there was a login manager in kde, but darned if i can find it now. this
would allow auto logins.

building that kernel, but that is not the way i have

kernel sites i have followed.
use your HOWTO's about building a kernel and try

could this be your problem..pointing to the wrong
device?

when i run aptitude update i get a response that tells
me that 78 files are to be removed. lots of gnome and
libs. (i use kde) but i see one or two of the listed
files that are to be removed, as files that i use
i ran aptitude,
apitude reinstall ymessenger.. and what i got was a
long list of files ( 78 in all) that it said i did not
need.
many were libs and a lot of gnome files and i know
that at least one of them, totem, i did need and still
use.
i have been having systems problems but this is too
much!
