Try using the ftp module or pointing port 20 to whatever machine you're
doing the active ftp from.

Did you just upgrade your kernel? (I know 2.2.18pre21 or something just
came out). I usually just make a symlink from /boot/System.map to
/usr/src/linux/System.map. Then whenever I upgrade my kernel my System
map stays consistent.

You probably want the package unzip (you guessed it, to unzip files) and
zip if you want to zip them up.

In your /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup_0 file you can do a /usr/bin/X11/xsetbg
myfile.jpg &
This should set your background whenever xdm is managing and X
display...
Check out X.themes.org and download some of the themes and you'll find
some interesting stuff.
