I was previously running an older .88 version of Webmin that I had
installed from source back when I was running Potato. I am now
running Sid, and decided that since the debs always seem to be quite
current for webmin, I would kill the old source install, and run
with the Debian pkgs.

I just installed a Debian 2.2R3, then did a dist-upgrade to R4, and
then another dist-upgrade to unstable.(just in case any of that is
relevant). I now have one package that's causing me grief because it
fails with the following:

I have a couple of questions, some of which may relate specifically
to how Debian handles things...not reallt sure.
Which files do I add items to such as my xterm foregound,
background, font and such to. I've tried adding to ~/.Xresources
but it does not seem to work. Does rxvt use those setting
I've just tried to upgrade to the 2.4.10-386 kernel image from
unstable. I cannot get it to boot , seemingly because none of the
modules get loaded. I noticed that modules.dep in the
/lib/modules/2.4.10-386 is there, but is empty, showing a file size
of 0 bytes. Can anyone tell me what I've done

I've just re-installed Debian unstable onto a new box. At first it worked
fine, but suddenly I cannot resolve anything. I can talk to the internal
network, as well as the internet by IP address, but nothing resolves.
I've been through all my files that I know to be involved in this process,

my K7 Athlon? I saw mention on a couple of them that said
for K5 or K6, but didn't see any that indicated it was for the K7. I
was assuming the 386 was a safe bet, but would like to use another if
it's more optimized.

;man lilo.conf" but it didn't clear up much, and I don't find any
reference to initrd in my current /etc/lilo.conf. Can anyone tell me what I
need to do, to safely upgrade?

I'm on a Woody box with all updates, running the most recent apache
from there.
Is there a way to tell apache to "defer" to another IP address?
What I'm trying to do is...I have a sub-domain just entered as a
CNAME entry pointing to my main machine. The actual machine that
serves up the content I

I have about 400 little 2 line files to create, that I'm sure should
be scriptable, but can't seem to figure out the right tools.
The file format should be as follows:
DBUSER=username/password
export DBUSER
I'd like to be able to run something like:
scriptname username password
and just have a
I'm about to upgrade a Potato box to testing, and plan on doing some
hardware upgrades at the same time. One of the things I'm replacing
will be the video card. I'm currently running a very old ATI card
that I've been fairly happy with, but I've seen that alot of the
newer ATI Rage based cards ha
