apt-get update then apt-get dist-upgrade to fetch the XFree 3.3.6 for
Slink from http://www.debian.org/~vincent.
All downloaded and installed OK - except for error with xterm which was

Hi, I am using Slink (r2) and have a problem with exim after a new install.
I can send and receive local mail OK - and remote mail via my ISP is OK when I
am on-line.
But external mail is not queued when off-line - I get error message in the
/var/log/exim/mainlog which says:
retry timeout exceede

Following a system update I get the following message (e-mailed to root)
from Anacron regarding job cron.daily:
"nice: cannot set priority:Permission denied."
cron.daily exits with nothing done. What needs to be done? I've only

2.1 Slink - standard install from CD's. I keep getting the message
cannot parse fully qualified domain. I filled in the name of my ISP
(lineone.net) for the smarthost part of the config (I also tried
