But I'd like to log outbound connexions with their nated public addresses and
original private addresses.
The only way I have found to get public addresses is to log mangle table when
packets go back. (prerouting of mangle table)

I can't explain the net-install working, but I have run into similar
problems with a Realtek wireless card. Try running this comand as
root, shortly after your notebook connects:
iwconfig wlan0 rate 5.5M
This will only fix the issue if the card's sending out _too much_ data.

I saw that nvidia was upgraded to a 290 something version so I removed
all the nvidia* packages to let nouveau take its place.

This has actually nothing to do with ipv6, but with iptables blocking
apt outgoing access. I didnt notice this at first because I hadnt set
this machine up in the first place and i was able to ping internet
addresses as well as the debian mirrors.

work: the IP does not get set. It has been working for years.

OK, the connection works fine now. I heard, that it was at time a little
unstable and it could be better to start skype first by hand. Now I must

I'm setting up a laptop as a Christmas gift for my sister; it's an Acer
Aspire 5250 with Radeon HD 6310. Netinstall of Squeeze went smoothly enough,
but the aspect ratio seems wrong (too wide; kinda squashed). Gnome and Xorg
are offering only resolutions of 1024x768 and 800x600. B
