I'd mount the iso's, and then put file:///path/to/debs in my

If you put the iso paths at the top of the list, it will look there
first.
There may be a better way, but that's what I'd do.

Hello,
that should be enough if you simply want to serve html-pages. If you
want to use php-scripts with data from a mysql-database or even worse:
java servlets like cocoon, there could be performance problems. It does
work in any case - it's only a question of speed.

Hi
I just found something peculiar with "head" in debian unstable
textutils version 2.0-12
head -21 gives the first 21 lines as expected, but
head -22 gives the first 23 lines, ie. one extra,
and it seems that values above 21 gives an extra line.
Is this a known bug (or maybe a feature :-)
Rega
That's plenty of machine for a "closet server". Of course, if you can
scrounge it up, adding more RAM would help the most wrt performance.

I've noticed that gtcd's volume slider doesn't do anything, after
switching to the ALSA for sound. Is there any way to make this work
again, short of switching back to the OSS drivers. My sound card is a

It's good to know I'm not alone!! My tulip card was working fine until I
make a kernel update. Then it stopped working, but I was getting help from
this mailing list until I had to send my PC to warranty. Have you tried to
install or reconfigure the "dhcp-client" package?

Make sure that the place that lilo installs is what you want. If you
