How is he trying to hit on your pc? You may be able to use packet sniffers
and IDS to gather more information on the crack attempts he is doing
to your PC. You should also look at the type of attack, it could be
just a poorly configured WindowsPC that your ISP is running.

If you want a whole process in locking up Linux go to www.securityportal.com
and Select the Linux tab. In the left hand frame, there should be a
section labelled Securing Linux. Follow that to help plug further holes.

It was the SCSI driver was missing. I was able to compile the kernel
and thanks for everyones help. I may have a bug to report when compiling
2.4.4 and 2.4.5 kernels from there tar balls. When I use config or
menuconfig and deselect smp since I only have one processor. I get the

Has anyone implemented NSA's Secure-Enhanced Linux or has done any work
with it? NSA states it just adds Mandatory Access Controls. Does this
help protect a system or just become a nusance?

Well you can get the source kernel and run it threw the fornesics program
then compile it possible.
Anyway it will help with open trojans and virus anyway.

You can use computer fornesics to scan the kernal against familiar trojan
and virus patterns realitively quickly and at least identify problem
code. It would be up to you to review to see if it is good or bad code.
