Sorry, I can't reproduce this, even from a clean sid schroot. What does it say
when you run each of the following:
$ dpkg -S /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/sage/__init__.py
$ dp
Package: sagemath
Version: 7.6-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
