I had a somewhat productive afternoon, and I have 2.3.16 (latest stable)
compiling well. It might even work ;-)
The build system and autotooling is still a bit of a mess, and
debian/patches needs a dire cleanup. Most of that stuff needs to go
upstream, and we need to go back in time and triple c
