I think it would be wise to update quik to at least 2.1-4 as 2.1-3 has a
rather annoying bug (#294958). 2.1-5 has md support which might be
useful for some people. 2.1-6 has compressed kernel support which will
become useful when floppy support is in.

that 486 stepping A processors have a wrong opcode for cmpxchg. This
means emulation of cmpxchg is necessary for 486 stepping A as well. As
to the security hole, either the patch needs some fixes (ie using get_user etc.)
