In how far are several packages affected by bug #1071355 of maptools

Hi, there was a series of testing removals due to bug #1071355 of r-cran-maptools. Since maptools was removed from CRAN[1] we intend to remove this package. However, before doing so I would like to understand why packages like r-cran-factominer, r-cran-ggpubr, r-cran-vim, r-cran-systemfit, r-cra
