Dominique,
I just noticed with an upgrade to
XFree 4.3.0-5 (from 4.3.0-2) and
KDE 3.2.1-1 (from 3.1.5-2)
the blue lines disappeared. We did not find out what was the problem, but it
is not there anymore. From my point of view that is sufficient to close the
bug report.
Thanks,
Rainer

Dominique,
I agree, it might be well a function, which might be used mainly by kde/qt of
another package. I am using mozilla and it works fine for me. Question is to
which of the Xserver packages should it be attached. With which reason?

That is a hint. So far I worked around the problem by running GNOME on that
laptop. Only KDE apps have these blue lines...which makes me wondering why
the sync rates are the source of the problem. I would have guessed they are
the same for GNOME and KDE.

I have a Sony Notebook as well and I also get the lines. They
become lighter and darker if you fiddle with your sync rates. Any progress on
this issue?
Just some more input:
When I run konqueror on the sid system and display it (ssh -X sid-system) on a
woody/KDE 3.1.4 system, the blue lines do not show up.
Thanks,
Rainer

Attached is a konqueror snapshot. Seems that the blue lines are not restricted
to the menus, but also appear in other parts of the window.
Problem is weired from my point of view (I even installed GNOME right now,
because there I did not find any problem like this, except if I start KDE

On my system (Sony VAIO Laptop) KDE applications show up with blue
vertical lines in menus. When I run GNOME that happens only for KDE
applications all other applications seem to be ok. I don't know what to
submit, which helps s
