I was unaware of the QT transition currently taking place. Should have looked
(my bad!) - returning Debian user after some years =D
Will close the bug shortly and reopen should the issue persist past completion
of the QT transition.

in my konsole configuration the keyboard was set to 'Linux-Konsole'
