I had a similar problem, althoug the error message is not the same. I searched the web and I found https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/827407 and https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=709376#c0 . On the other hand, kmail1 is dead upstream, so maybe this should be a wontfix :-( si
