The only relevant change I can spot in debian/changelog between -11
and -12 is the move to GCC 5. Could it be causing this problem?
Jamie, is it an option for you to rebuild the latest package locally,
after reverting commit 248aa46?

Maybe your kernel lacks aufs support. Look into using the aufs-dkms package.

?
Context: ideally I would like to sort this out during DebCamp, so
a quick answer would be appreciated. But of course I understand if you
can't react this fast :)

Done: #885913
Package: checkgmail
Severity: important
Version: 1.13+svn43-4
X-Debbugs-Cc: hialomu...@gmail.com, mo...@debian.org
checkgmail is the reverse-dependency of libgtk2-trayicon-perl, which
I'd rather not ship in Buster (I've just filed a RC bug to this end:
#904556).
It looks like CheckGmail has been
responsive and happy to add
missing bits to the bindings.
Alternatively, as suggested on #904557 a few months ago,
I think this package should be removed from the archive.
Cheers!

is kind of moot :/
- There are other options for this use case nowadays, such as OTR,
which are probably better for most use cases.
So perhaps it would be best to remove this package from Debian.
