The problem appears to be gone as of 1:2.1.1.0-4. There is a remote possibility
that the change in my audio setup (now via network to remote esd) is related,
but this seems a little unlikely, In any event, I no longer have a reproducible

Ben, your analysis is partly correct, but the error is not that
db_get does not exist (it does), but what db_get returns (10) and
that this is not handled properly. /usr/share/debconf/confmodule
actaully synthesises a
