Package: scanbd
Version: 1.5.1-6build1
Severity: normal
I am using the excellent AirSane (sadly unpackaged for Debian):
https://github.com/SimulPiscator/AirSane
In order to get it to work, I had to increase MaxConnections to 2 for the
scanbm.socket systemd unit file.
I am sorry, it took me about
I am experiencing the same issue with a Canon 9000F scanner: when I switch
the scanner off then back on, scanbd fails to reconnect to it. The error
message is identical (mutans mutatis) to that in the logs posted here, but
in my case `scanimage -L` shows that the device name has not changed.

Severity: important
When I first installed scanbd, I found that the systemd unit could not
start, because inetd was already listening on the scanbd port.
It seems to me that scanbd should only configure one of systemd or
inetd when it installs. In particular

Severity: minor
propsel is no longer shipped in Debian. I suggest simply removing the
second paragraph of the package description of x2x; it’s easier in any
case to use the various package search tools to find a package that
does what one wants, and avoid

I've been using lastfmsubmitd for years successfully, so this bug
appears to have been either fixed, or a transient problem.

I just spent a while chasing around because of this dead-end

I don't use esmtp any more, so I suggest that if it works for you
that's good enough. Looking back at the bug report, did you notice
that the problem was also with the Subject: header (or absence of
Subject header)? Hence, you may want to redo your tests before closing
the bug.

In that case, it looks as though the bug is fixed and you can close it!

Also, I just noticed this in the FAQ:

sense to me, because "both" should be followed by two things, i.e. I

The package description refers to propsel, which is no longer packaged
in Debian. I can't find much trace of it on the internet, so maybe the
mention should be removed; if not, a web page should be given, if one
can be found.

Gengetopt does not generate a skeleton main.c (presumably it once did);
instead, it generates a command-line parser, and a header.
I suggest the following wording for the long description:
