In contrast, 'db.words.db_weakcmpr' and all other database are in fact correctly
generated and regenerated. An investigation has been begun.

The call to MAKEDEV for creation of "/dev/tty?"
is declined with an ugly message, pointing at
non-Linux filesystems. This is harmless.
Serious is the fact that
chmod g-r,o= /dev/tty[0-9]*
is failing, thus aborting the script.
