Please see attached a proper diff for multi-aterm.
It was taken from the directory containing the src directory.
Sorry if I took the patch wrong, you should be able to see what I mean
by reading the file.

Hi,
I believe this bug is caused by the fact that multi-aterm has no unicode
support, and aptitude uses some unicode characters to make itself
prettier.
