are you able to reproduce this hang on a installation
with just stretch package versions, too.
(Or maybe on a buster installation)
I ask because at least following packages are more current as
the plain stretch versions:

(Basically attaches a debugger every 30 seconds, prints the backtrace and
detaches.)
