Just a small observation about non-english dictionaries:
Using option -f, makes look ignore lower and upper case latters, and for
example mostly work with Polish dictionary:
$ /usr/lib/plan9/bin/look
Package: 9base
Version: 1:6-13

As installed, look is not very usable:
$ /usr/lib/plan9/bin/look
look: can't open /usr/lib/plan9/lib/words
$
This is most likely a porting bug, as man page, says by default it uses
/usr/share/dict/words

lwresd appears to be removed from unstable. It appears maintainer removed
lwresd package and binary (symlinks to named I think), but I cannot find
definitive statement from upstream that it is in fact deprecated.

Hi,
can you retest with version from unstable?
Does other applications using frabebufer works
(like fbterm or mplayer for example)?
Also model of Alpha and your Matrox card will be helpfull
(with list of loaded modules).
