Note that in the next version, this is all moved to /usr/share for FHS
compliance.

The upload of 1.2.2 will fix this by build-depending on gcc-3.4. We are
waiting for 1.4.0 upstream for a real "new" release.

I have a local hack that allows it to compile vs libslang2, hopefully
this will be uploaded soon.

This is in fact what has been done in the pending packages, since comcom
is deprecated for a long time now.

ithout FreeDOS (example: MS-DOS,
DR-DOS, any other 8086 or DPMI OS). The X font is only required if
running in X11 mode and no other VGA font is installed (some users
prefer the Bochs VGA font, for example).
DOSEMU with FreeDOS in X11 is a common use case but it is not exclusive
by far.

Use the dosemu-freedos package instead of the upstream tarball...

I'm certain that a new upload would fix this. This works on my local
installation no problems.

In order for a user to make use of the CDROM drive under DOSEMU/FreeDOS,
the following must be done:
1. un-REM cdrom.sys from config.sys
2. add c:\bin\shsucdx /d:mscd0001 to autoexec.bat
If the user has a SCSI cdrom drive, $_aspi with sg* de

BTW, there is xfonts-bochs which provides a vga font in main...

The plot thickens? I wish I could reproduce this
Do you have another system where you can try a clean installation of the
packages? Perhaps something has become messed up.
One thing you could make sure is that your config.sys is running
command.com with an environment size like e:1024 instead of the default,
which I think is only 256.
