I am blind and can't see if at the moment when I start bug, my numlock is on
or off, so it would be fine if it doesn't continue immediately when asking
for severity, since I can miss entering the correct number; i doubt
sometimes and then I enter a

Without these freeamp-extras you can't do anything; so I suggest:
a) to ask/suggest to install them too (yes or no), and
b) to advise to check if the appropriate /dev such as mixer or audio or dsp
