I don't think I agree with you wrt to localization of -a and -o. -a allows to
choos from all lists of fortunes, so I don't see the point of using localized
fortunes only. -o has an override that maked the option to be ignores if a
fortune

True. "fortune cs" works great, "fortune" doesn't return anything, despite a
package providing fortune-cookie-db is installed.

The point raised by Pascal is quite good and still valid: re-econding may alter
the length of line. As the adopter of this package, I'm leaning to close this
