Changing the install-info line in the postinst to read
install-info --quiet --section "Development" "Development" \
--description="ILU Reference Manual" /usr/share/info/ilu-manual.info.gz
appears to take care of the problem.

[Sorry for the delay in processing this package...]
I'm not overly comfortable with adding this to the overrides again.
It's been orphaned for something in the region of 900 days, roughly
since the time of bo (i.e. prior to potato's release)[1] and was
removed from the archives at the request
