Okay, then this would probably be a good candidate for having two packages with
one for that compatibility, like python2.3-mysql3db and python2.3-mysql4db. It
would still be a problematic situation for release if the latter were not
included.

(Hoffleit) is very old and uses the library for the old (3.x) release of mysql,
which I think is probably and unacceptable situation for release
