dpkg: error processing xringd (--install):

I don't have a /dev/modem on most of my machines, because it's really
not the best idea when it comes to locking. If it's going to assume a
device, it could test to see
Is this included in the base install system? If so where? Which module do I
need? I have base2.1 insatlled on my A3000, and it recognizes all of the
hardware, but there is no modem driver.
