Upstream metadata for native packages?

Hi, I recently started adding debian/upstream/metadata files to my packages, mostly documenting the basic properties such as the name of the upstream contact, the VCS repository, any FAQs or mailing lists, and similar. Now here's a question: should I try to do that for native packages, too? It see
