is missing the PPD files for the OfficeJet Pro X476dw
printer we wanted to install on location.

Just saw that hplip wa

Ok, good to know. Thanks fo
ork without issues and we therefore
might just go ahead and patch the symbols file as suggested, but it would
be still be good if someone could have a deeper look at this. Maybe it's
any of the (transitive) build dependencies of ghostscript which need to be
rebuilt?

Just prepend this symbol with "(arch!=sparc arch!=sparc64)" so that
the line becomes:
(arch!=sparc arch!=sparc64) hdr_id@Base 9.10~dfsg

previous commit you linked does exactly that on sparc*:
-DGS_USE_MEMORY_HEADER_ID=0
So the the #ifdef in gxobj.h is consequently not triggered and hdr_id
is not present. I don't see any contradiction here. Your initial
assumption was absolutely spot on.

r_id@Base 9.16~dfsg
is correct.
See, for example libechonest [1].

Thanks a lot for your quick reaction. This really helps getting sparc64
into shape :).

Would be great if the testsuite could be disabled for sparc64 as well
if there is no prospective fix for the testsuite failures in sight.
