you might have a look at following commands to build a
complete local cups-browsed package with the upstream
patch included.
That may work better, as a plain make built shared lib
might be not enough compatible with the executable from
the debian package.

After the GhostScript 9.26 update, we are only able to preview about 1/3 of
the pdf files we could preview before the update. And I'm told it would be
difficult for us to downgrade to a previous GhostScript version.
Any ideas how long it will take before this bug will be fixed for Debian?
