I'm running Debian/Sid on ibook 700. I have installed j2re1.3 from
Blackdown but mozilla doesn't see the plug-ins. I add a symbolic link
with /etc/alternatives/javaplugin_oji.so in ~/.mozilla/plugins but
nothing yet. All seems to be installed correctly, according to dpkg -L

Did you download the tarball from the link I gave to you ? In this
tarball there is a correct map for console and another one for X.

After some tests with OS X, I have reinstalled Debian unstable with
benh kernel and daenzer dri-trunk on an iBook2 700 with an ATI
Radeon M6 LY. But this time with my usual XF86Config-4, when I type

alsamixer I can't change the volume in "PC Speak". I didn't find any
solution in alsa mailing list where this problem is reported or in
this mailig list.
Perhaps I forgot or didn't see something, but what ? An id
