Hi,
I did some research on this a while ago, mainly in the applefritter.com
forum
Howdy,
On iBook2s, what screen resolutions are supported under Linux? I've
only been able to get 1024x768 to work, specifically in X. It'd be nice to get
tuxracer running...
Thanks,
Mark
Hi,
Ever since I upgraded to the newest (11.06) dri-trunk X packages, my
700 MHz iBook wakes up from sleep with a garbled screen. Could this be the
result of some misconfiguration on my end?

I noticed that too. I

Doesn't it run dog slow, though?

Oh man. I just put your XF86Config-4 in the place of mine, and it does run
fast! quakeforge runs even better...
I'm never doing school work again.
Thanks!

Hello all,
I am the proud owner of a 700 MHz 12.1" iBook2. Debian sid is working
perfectly on it (with sleep and dri and everything!) and running faster than
MacOS X. Go figure.
There's just one problem. After changing my setup in accordance with
the information on http://bulmal

Hello,
My iBook2's Radeon M6 handles 3D acceleration perfectly (thanks, Mr.
Dänzer!), but not 2D. I'm curious if there's something I can fiddle with in
XF86Config-4 to try and coax 2D acceleration out of my machine -- it'd make
mozilla-xft much faster!
Thanks for your time,
Mark

Hello all,
Recently, I set up ALSA on my iBook using the debian packages and
make-kpkg. I managed to get everything set up in accordance with Mij's page
this time (ie, make-kpkg modules worked), which is nice. However, I can't
adjust the volume; it's always very, very low. Also, alsamix

case. Are anti-aliased webpages in a packaged GNOME browser really just a pipe
dream? mozilla-xft is something I'd like to avoid, as I don't think XRENDER
support exists for my 700MHz iBook's M7.

our mail, however, I found that top(1) agreed with you. Both
certainly seem to acheive anti-aliased text with the same CPU usage spike. And
I suppose that it'd be hard to get that far without some XRENDER support, too.
In any event, I'm sticking to epiphany-browser now, as it seems
Hello,
I'm running kernel 2.6.5 with the patches from the
kernel-patch-powerpc-2.6.5 package installed on a 700 MHz iBook. When I try
to put the machine to sleep, either by closing the lid or calling snooze, I
get a kernel oops very similar to the one in this message:
