any reports about this in the Debian bug
tracker nor in the archives of the list for current month (some friends
of mine using 2.6.5 and same iBook do not suffer the pain).
Any hints?
Thanks in advance.

Confirmed: CONFIG_SERIAL_PMACZILOG was the problem. CONFIG_PREEMPT had

Did you upgrade your Gnome version (I heard that 2.6.2 was released a
few days ago)? Or maybe some libs...

I just let pmud do the job (via pbbuttonsd, which includes pmud). As fas
as I know, pbbuttonsd has a command line utility that allows that feature.

Just my two cents anyway.

This is wrong. CRT output (when enabled by m3mirror) doesn't work with
2.6 kernels on my PowerBook.
MMS I will try again.

You got the right page, the trick is that the JDK you want is the 32-bit
pSeries/iSeries one.
Thanks!

The screen is still on, but pbbuttonsd crashes (can't use the special

the volume anymore).
That also happens in my G3 800 MHz iBook.

I finally had the time to compile and install 2.6.7-bk20 and it seems
that it's working fine with pbbuttonsd 0.

I don't know why yet.
In case it helps, kernel 2.6.8-rc1 suffers from the same strange behaviour.
