7300 NAT/Firewall

I mentioned this on #debianppc IRC, but got little response. I got woody working with quik on a 7300. The installer screen was split -- rotated 25% to the left. But I managed. Getting the ADB mouse recognized, installing the 2.4 kernel package, getting XFree86 up, getting AsanteFAST 590 NICs recog

At last! Using the BootX method from a Mac OS 9 HFS partition, I've installed woody with 2.4.18 on my 7300. The installer was able to use my AsanteFAST 590 PCI NIC. But the installed kernel doesn't work properly with it. Does anyone here know what module I have to load to make the card work? (...

Pilot error. The 2.4.18 kernel supports this card. After some fun with route, and figuring out which card is eth0, eth1, eth2 (always essential), I have it running. On to firewall configuration/translating my OpenBSD ipf/ipnat config files! -B... > At last! Using the BootX method from a Mac OS 9

woody/PowerMac 6400 - NIC driver install trouble

2002-02-27 Thread Bruce A. Burdick, Jr.
I'm trying to install woody on a PowerMac 6400 with an AsanteFAST 10/100 card, but having no luck. The NIC, which works fine in MacOS, isn't recognized. The only driver that looks remotely suitable is the ng_tulip driver (the Asante has a tulip chip, as I understand it). But that won't install. He

Tried the 3.0.21-2002-03-25 floppies. Still no luck. The 6400's PCI bus must be strange territory for the kernel used on the floppies: neither the PCI-attached ethernet card nor the USB card are mentioned in dmesg. -B... >> On Tue, Mar 05, 2002 at 11:46:50PM -0600, Bruce A. Burdick
