I did check out pommed and it requires kernel 2.6.22 I think so I will have to
compile that and then compile pommed from source. I rather not move into
unstable just yet.

I'm not sure what the graphics card is in your powerbook, but I
noticed a reduction in brightness compared to OSX when using Debian
on my iMac G5 (revA) which has an nvidia device. When I put the

I've made the necessary corrections to open21xx. I've built it with char
signed and unsigned and that was the only instance of that particular
problem. The new release, open21xx-0.7.6, is available on
http://www3.telus.net/sharpshin/downloads/open21xx.
