2.6.14 USB vs. sleep issues

Im trying to compile it, but i cant use pbbuttonsd with linux-source-2.6.14 and the linux-image s configure. My system only works with my own built 2.6.13 with patches or with the debian linux-image-2.6.14-powerpc kernel. Could it be something about using mkinitrd? My problem with compiling is that

after rebooting, the install kernel doesn't see the scsi. /dev/sda2 ... taking another kernel, I can see the scsi, but the network is not working ... Which kernel is the good one, on the minimal cdrom ??? I use BootX, and the 2.4 kernel says: networking OK, later bringing up eth0 no success .
